Hi all,

This has been an awesome experience to learn from each other here. Too bad it has to close. But just wish to say a fond farewell to this site and to all you good people. My T in the last two weeks has gone way down in volume and spikes are almost gone. Whatever good I have learned here, when practiced consistently, must have helped in my recovery process. Thanks again and farewell to all.

I'm doing a bit better too and this Forum has been one of the reasons why.

Although CBT rightfully addresses one's negative thinking about tinnitus, I think another important factor in my case has been the increased use of mindfulness meditation to dampen my negative emotional response to 'the noise'.

I look forward to Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (which Laurence McKenna also seems quite keen on) becoming more widely recognised as an additional therapeutic tool in the process of habituation.

I would like to express my sadness that this message board is coming to a close.  Although I have not participated here like I would have liked to I have been in awe of some of the information posted here.  I am particularly grateful to Dr. Nagler who has been a guardian to individuals afflicated with tinnitus and hyperacusis.  Most clinicians treat, or attempt to care for patients with tinnitus and hyperacusis.  What is different about Dr. Nagler is that he has walked the walk.  He has been down the path and knows first hand what it is like to search for answers and do what needs to be done to get better.  To me, that makes all the difference in the world.  He has consistently cut through all the haze that exists in the world of T and H and given straightforward, to the point advice no matter whether a patient wants to hear it or not.  This is what we need regardless of whether we think so or not.  Ultimately this is what we yearn for.  This is how we get better.  I look forward to hearing his voice in the future because at this juncture I feel a loss.
Sincerely,
Dan Malcore

Doctor Nagler, I pray for you and your family.
The help you have given me has been so precious. I am so thankful for all the responses and support!
