Well I for one am very happy to have the board back up and running. Yes it does seem to have been a long time but no worries, lets start a fresh with lots of really good information and help.

Many thanks to Dr. Nagler for opening up again.

That will depend on the rest of the participants as much as I, but I'm willing to do my part.

How is everyone?

I agree it is good to see the board back up and running.
And i hope all those who care about and are a part of this community are doing well.
I realize that T&H present alot of challenges, and that is one reason- I am truly happy to see this board reopen.

Hope everyone is ok, (or better) and doing better all the time.

Hi Bbec,

I wish that no one had to ever find out what hyperacusis, or tinnitus was.
But since some of us do know all too well that sometimes they can be really difficult to deal with,
and sometimes they can also take awhile to understand, (and learn how to cope with)
I am glad that some others who have been through it, are willing to help.

You said -
I am no better-no worse.
How about you?

While I am glad you are no worse, I also hope things get better for you soon.
Though I know sometimes it can take awhile.

For me it can be a bit of a back and forth path, at times - (but as I have mentioned before my main challenge is not tinnitus.)
I have had several setbacks this summer,  (thankfully some go away quicker that I would have expected)
The last one lasted awhile but is gone now, - and I am currently doing better than I was. And  it seems as though my tolerances for "everyday"  sounds keep improving-
I can also listen to some more selections in the way of music-
that I could not tolerate before- so I think that is a good thing :-)

It is not a quick path for me, it is a little at a time and some days are still harder than others. One day this past weekend my hearing was more sensitive again, all day and I wound up  having to turn the music back down for a bit, and also opt for softer selections on what I did listen to -  I think I had slept through people mowing their yards again. But last night and today is better. Like I said- it is kind of back and forth, sometimes. But overall - I am doing better.
I could even listen to some old  (classic rock) music on the radio as I drove up to the store today.  That is Not unusual for me anymore, but it happened to be certain musical selections that I had a hard time with before- but this time I could enjoy it  - so that made me smile!
(It has taken me a long time to get "here" and I still have a long way to go,
but when I look back, I am amazed at, and thankful for, the progress I have made.)
