Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Community Board has been established as a forum for support, debate, and productive exchange of information. All who are committed to respectful and civil discussion of various issues pertinent to the tinnitus and hyperacusis communities are welcome to participate. What constitutes "respectful and civil discussion?" I would suggest that it is possible to express disagreement with ideas and opinions without criticizing the individual voicing those ideas and opinions. While it can occasionally be difficult for a participant to know exactly where to "draw the line" - especially in the type of heated debate sometimes generated on an Internet message board - a good rule of thumb to follow is to avoid posting anything that the person to whom it is directed might consider embarrassing or hurtful. Obviously personal insults referencing particpants on this board or other boards fall outside the boundaries of respectful and civil discussion. There is no "off topic" section here. If a participant feels compelled to post an important off-topic message, he or she should write "OT" in front of title of the post on the subject line. Advertising or promotion of products or services in which the individual posting has a vested financial interest is not permitted. Questions about the administration of this site may be raised on the board, via PM, or in e-mail addressed to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. As your host, I will be as fair as possible to everybody who participates here. Those who post in a manner that is inconsistent with the philosophy described above will be asked to modify or withdraw their comments. Thank you. Here's to silent days ahead for all. stringplayer
I used to be the artist formerly lnown as ruudboy. I figured I am adam2525 everywhere else so why not start fresh in your little corner of the cyber universe . Good luck, I'm sure this board will be a welcome addition to the tinnitus community. Adam
Thanks for the invite to your board, sp. This is a really nice board, and I hope more people will register!
I'm sure this board will be an improvement on the last board that attempted to improve on the one that preceded it.
Boy, this is nice! Great work SP!
So easy to just walk in. The Dr. gave me some Levaquin samples, SP. Now, if my gut and nerves can handle it better than the Doxycycline, I'm good to go! This really will be an improvement, Murasaki53. I can't darken that new one without being attacked by "the lawyer". I feel at ease here.
Thanks to all for the kind words of support. This board does have some history, by the way. I'll let y'all know about it in a week or so when I finish tweaking things.
All signed up! Good work SP. Do we have to re-register when the site name changes? Thanks for the spell check to - boy do I ever need that! Just got back from a few days in Florida and wasn't far from Atlanta on the way back. Almost gave you a call to see if we could do lunch.
Tinnitus seems to be slowly slipping away thanks to some very insightful, helpful comments you have made with a little yelling at me along the way. Seemed to have worked or is working. Hope Rob x 2 decides to join us. CPW
Boy, this is nice! Great work SP! So easy to just walk in. ........... Glad you approve, Tinman. ........... The Dr. gave me some Levaquin samples, SP. ............. That is precisely the drug I would have recommended given the history you explained to me in your PM. I try not to "play doctor" on the Internet, which is why I deferred to your own physician in that regard. But I do think he made the right call! .......... Now, if my gut and nerves can handle it better than the Doxycycline, I'm good to go! ............ Why worry about something that's not likely to be a problem? ............. This really will be an improvement, Murasaki53. I can't darken that new one without being attacked by "the lawyer". I feel at ease here. .............. I'm glad you feel at ease here, Tinman. Truly I am. But you could have gotten the exact same point across without the unflattering reference, yes? sp
Do we have to re-register when the site name changes? ........... Not exactly sure what you mean. As long as you do not log out when you leave this site, you should still be logged in when you return. The same goes for the ezBoards like the TSMB and TTF. sp
I think you said that the site in a few days would be going to:
http://www.sptinnitus.com That's what I was referring to. CPW
Well, there are several on the other board with plenty BAD to say about the cipro type drugs.
They have ALL had bad experiences with it. I'm awaiting an unreturned call from my doctor via his answering service.
Well, the Dr. convinced me to try one. I'm allergic to the other major ones, penicillin, sulfa, etc. It's risk what they're saying on TSMB or never get well.
He did give me one other choice -- Zithromax. Not a good situation.
I think you said that the site in a few days would be going to: http://www.sptinnitus.com That's what I was referring to. ......... Oh. I see what you mean now. My bad! A couple of days ago I purchased the sptinnitus.com domain. It just makes it easier for newbies to find the board! If you now click on http://www.sptinnitus.com it will take you to this board. There is no change at all with regard to registration. So you can access the Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Community Board by clicking on either http://www.websitetoolbox.com/mb/stringplayer or http://www.sptinnitus.com Same board either way! sp
Well, there are several on the other board with plenty BAD to say about the cipro type drugs. They have ALL had bad experiences with it. I'm awaiting an unreturned call from my doctor via his answering service. ........... Levaquin would have been my choice for you, Tinman. Period. I don't expect unanimous agreement on anything, my friend. Especially not on an Internet message board. So no surprise there. Of course now they have you so rattled that you'll be worried sick either way. You'd likely have done just fine with the Levaquin, buit now it's firmly implanted in your brain that you won't. That's a shame. sp
sp, this looks very good. I'm looking forward to helpful information and sharing of meaningful information here.
Good luck, Selah
Life is too short people. Enjoy it. Live it to the fullest, Laugh alot, and Love more.
Life is too short people. Enjoy it. Live it to the fullest, Laugh alot, and Love more. .......... Folks, the uplifting message in italics above is from a person who but a few years ago was truly suffering terribly from tinnitus. Something to think about for all of us, especially those now in that same boat. sp
Birdy is a true inspiration. She's helped me more than once during horrendous spikes.
Love ya', Birdy Girl! tinman
Thanks guys. Love ya Tinman!
Listen to sp, all. I truly WAS suffering greatly years ago. I actually thought about taking away God's greatest gift. Then, I looked at my sweet girl's face, and knew I could never leave her. So, I pulled up my boot-straps, and got help from TRT, and a certain Dr's website which I read like the Bible. And the rest, they say, is history. Bird Woman
